Roger W. Miller, a resident of Three Lakes and formerly of New London, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 with his family at his side.
Mr. Miller was born March 22, 1929 in township of Union, in Waupaca County to Emil and Irma (Henschel) Miller. He grew up in the Marion area and graduated from Marion High School in 1947. He married Janice Knapp at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville, on April 7, 1951. Roger and his wife, Janice, farmed in the New London area until moving to Three Lakes in 1976, where they owned and operated Miller’s Shady Lane Resort until 1989. Afterward they continued to reside in their home on Julia Creek. He was also employed at the Northern Aire Hotel while they owned the resort. Also worked with the Lutheran Digest and Lutheran churches for 10 years. And was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Three Lakes. He loved being outdoors, being with his family and friends, and watching sports.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his brother Lloyd; sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law and nephew. Survivors include his daughters: Deborah (Darryl) Navis of Markesan and Diana Miller of Three Lakes; one sister, Carol Mae Kratzke; three brothers, Stanley (Elaine) Miller, Kenneth Miller, and Robert (Sandy) Miller; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Three Lakes on September 30, 2016. Visitation 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., with service at 11:30 a.m. Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home, Inc. in Eagle River is assisting the family.
