Robert J. Strey, age 67, of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at his home in Fremont.
He was born on July 31, 1953 in Berlin, WI, the son of Raymond and Arlene (Booth) Strey. Bob worked for Simmons in New London for 34 years and later worked at RR Donnelly for 10 years before retiring in 2018. Bob was a life-long member of Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield and served on the finance committee. He especially enjoyed being able to help farm the family farm, Homestead Farms.
Bob is survived by his siblings: Sonya Rodencal, Fremont; Jerry (Pam) Strey, Fremont; Brian (Sue) Strey, New London and Shirley (Mark) Roemer, Wautoma; nieces and nephews: Katie (Andrew) Murphy, Betsy (Jeremy) Rodewald, Daniel Strey, Tarasita (Derek) Respalje, Theresa (Corey) Beckendorf, Tyler (Tiffany) Strey, Steven Ahles, David Ahles; and Tonya (Curt Olsen) Ahles; 12 great-nieces and nephews: Aubrey, Ryan, Rylie, Sydney, Lorelai, Danielle, Emelia, Sophia, Savannah, Sylvianna, Raylene,Rosalie and Avery; his aunt, Beatrice Artz; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Susan; a brother, Charles; a brother-in-law, Albert Rodencal and a sister-in-law, Brenda Strey.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church, N6412 Highway 49, Weyauwega (West Bloomfield). Pastor Wayne Schwanke will officiate. Visitation will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Christ Lutheran Church.
