Kristine “Tina” Ann Ellingson, 63, passed away unexpectedly from a pulmonary embolism on Monday, January 31, 2022.

Tina was born on May 7, 1958 in Troy, Ohio, and lived most of her adult life in Waupaca, Wisconsin. She is preceded in death by her parents Belford M. and Geneva S. Ellingson. A graduate of Troy High School, she was active in volleyball, tennis, choir and a variety of musicals. She earned a B.A. in Social Work at Wittenberg University and was employed at Belmont Finance, LLC. Tina loved being active and outdoors. She was a fabulous water skier and could be seen in her youth as part of a pyramid with the Waupaca Chain Skiers. She loved spending her summers and winters on the Chain, and especially loved to fish, though she would never eat one. Her other loves were traveling to Las Vegas, listening to all genres of music, playing games with her family, pet-sitting, and of course watching the Green Bay Packers. Her family and friends meant the world to her. She never went anywhere without making a friend, always making sure everyone felt included. She just loved everybody, and everybody’s pets, too! Tina was a faithful pillar of the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church as a choir member and as a vestry member. She was on the leadership team of the Cursillo Renewal Movement in the Episcopal Diocese of Fond du Lac. She was an all-in Christian, truly wanting people to experience knowing God is a gift. Tina was vivacious and happy and had a great sarcastic wit, with a charm and smile that made you feel loved and good about yourself.

Tina is survived by a huge family who loved her so, especially her siblings: Karen (Hans) Oppe of Midlothian, VA; Michael Ellingson of Waupaca, WI; Laura (John) Olson of Ripon, WI, and Erik (Kay) Ellingson of Waupaca, WI. She was so proud of her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, who loved her fiercely with enthusiasm and joy.

Services will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, February 5th at 11 a.m. (masks will be required). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Tina to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church or the Waupaca Humane Society. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
