Beverly Ann Fischer (Catherman) was born on January 10, 1944 in Altoona, PA to Marian and Lloyd Catherman. She entered into heaven on February 6, 2017, at the age of 73.

Beverly spent the early part of her childhood in Altoona, PA and then, later moved with her family to northern Indiana. Bev resided there until she met the love of her life, Bill, and moved to Wisconsin, where she spent the rest of her years with her husband and family. Bev met her loving husband of 50 years, William (Bill) Fischer, while he was stationed in Indiana, while serving in the Armed Forces. Once Bill was discharged, he took his fiancée back to Hortonville, Wisconsin to start their life and family together.

Bev always put everyone before her, especially husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild: Michael (Lisa) Fischer, Lisa’s children, Angela (Tony), Gina (Jamie), and Blaire Marie (Turner); Julie (Jeff) Fassbender and their children, Holly Fassbender, Carena (Charlie) Koeppl, Alyssa Fassbender (Dan Baker), great-grandbaby, Callaway Koeppl; Matthew (Kim) Fischer and their boys, Racer and Reece. She also loved to watch her “adopted” grandchildren, Mya and Brielle Griesbach. She is survived by her brothers and sisters- in-law, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. Bev was met at heaven’s gate by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, Lee and Julia Fischer (second mom); step father-in-law, Armon; sisters, Dixie and Cheryl; brother, Steven, and brothers-in-law, Stevie and Tom.

The Funeral Mass for Beverly will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville. Rev. Msgr. James Feely and Parish Director Greg Layton will be officiating. Visitation will take place directly at the church from 12 noon until the time of the service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Mom will always be remembered for her selflessness. She will be remembered as the person who put everyone’s needs first, who worried about and prayed for everyone else; putting her needs aside and who was stronger for others than she was for herself. Anyone who knew mom knew how much she loved to clean. People who came to our home would often say “you could eat off her floors.” She genuinely enjoyed cleaning her home. As Matt said last night, heaven just got a whole lot cleaner.

God saw you were getting tired; a cure not meant to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered, come with me…

Until till we meet again, our angel you will always be,

We love you more than words can express,

Your loving husband, children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Our family would like to thank the pulmonary team at UW Health for their unwavering support and care shown to our family for the last three years, we were given three more years with Bev because of you. We would also like to thank the UW Health ICU staff for showing compassion and kindness during our last hours with her.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be set up in Beverly’s name. The Borchardt Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville is serving the family. www.borchardtmoderfuneralhomes.com

She is also survived by aunts and uncles: Bill and Marcie Morey, Marion, IA; Russell and Lynn Morey, Menasha, WI; Tom and Cheryl Morey, Daphne, AL; Linda Backler and Jim Kubinek, Amherst, WI; and Carol Berlik, Appleton, WI. Included are 12 first cousins and numerous second cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Philip Morey, Waupaca, WI; and her paternal grandparents, Arthur and Helen (Fornal) Johnson, Newburgh, NY; great-aunt and uncle, Joseph and Mary Travis, New Windsor, NY; and great-aunt, Julia Chase, New York, NY.

She previously lived in Newburgh, NY her first 22 years, and then moved to Wisconsin with her parents in 1993. She attended school in Newburgh, NY graduating high school in 1989. She briefly attended college, but did not complete her education, due to her illnesses of Type 1 Diabetes, and Epilepsy. She was active in the local 4-H Club during her youth. She loved animals, especially dogs. One of her favorite projects was raising a “seeing eye dog” for an organization called Guiding Eyes for the Blind. She raised a black Labrador puppy named “Stitch” for a year teaching the dog how to adjust in many challenges like stairs, water, moving vehicles, shopping, church, sidewalks, people and other animals. Stitch was then turned over to Guiding Eyes for the Blind for final training. Christine and her parents attended Stitch’s graduation, at which time Stitch was given to a blind recipient. It was a sad but proud parting for Christine. Guiding Eyes for the Blind was very thankful for her contribution to the blind. Christine loved boating and fishing with her parents, and during the late 1980s Christine became a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary at the encouragement of her father who was an active member. She completed her boating safety course, and assisted in patrolling the Hudson River. She was an active member in NY till she moved to Wisconsin with her parents. After moving to Wisconsin, she met Luke Fuhrmann, the love of her life, at a Coast Guard Auxiliary meeting. Luke was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. They have been together ever since. They both loved NASCAR racing. They enjoyed watching races on TV, and even attended some live races. Because her father was part Polish, he loved Polka music, which rubbed off on Christine. She especially loved going to Polka Dances and listening to Polka shows on the radio. Her favorite Polka band was “Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra” out of Florida, NY which performs all over the country. Play a Polka tune, and she was in her glory. One of her favorite pastimes was playing Scrabble with her Mom, Grandma Morey, and Aunt Jean. Win or lose, she loved the competition and being with family. Christine and Luke eventually moved to the state of Florida around 2007 where the weather was mild. She was always happy and outgoing and though she had to deal with her illnesses of Type 1 Diabetes and Epilepsy, she bravely endured them her entire life, and was very grateful for Luke’s love and care in her final years. She is now blessed with peace and happiness in her new and glorious eternal home in heaven with the Lord, and her family and friends who have passed before her. May our Lord and Savior guide us and lead us till we meet Christine again in heaven.

Susan E. Bricco, age 59, of the Village of Kronenwetter, Marathon County, passed away in her home Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017.

Susan Elaine Bricco was born October 17, 1957 in Shawano, WI, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Rosalie (Kupsky) Bricco. Susan would put on a happy face for the people in the world around her. She gave people hope regardless of her own pain. Susan healed so many people with her presence, smile, laughter and kindness. It didn’t matter what was going on in her life when it came to the act of giving. It wasn’t just family she gave joy to, but she touched the hearts of many people in her own community and Japan as well. She gave them hope and warmth. They will forever be grateful to her. The lives she touched in Japan had a domino effect. Every person she helped went on to help another person. She will forever be immortalized in Choanji, Japan at a temple. She will be honored as family there. She taught people fairness and honesty. Susan lived to help people through the most difficult moments of their life. I feel fortunate to know and respect that side of her. Seeing hope on a cloudy day is nearly impossible, but Susan became the sunshine that cleared every cloud away. She lived to inspire people to be the best person they could be. Susan has two children she loves dearly. I know she wants the best for both of their lives. Being a mother is dedication, sacrifice, pain and hard times in life. I will be forever grateful for every kind word of encouragement. Susan loved her three grandsons more than life itself. Some of her happiest times were spent with them. Every second with them was precious to her. Her love for her sisters is unconditional and pure of heart. Death is not a condition; it is a part of life. For that reason Susan’s love will never die. Susan truly wanted the best for everyone. She taught that happiness wasn’t a dream to reach for; it is a reality waiting to be lived. Susan will be missed more than she will ever know; however, Susan’s love that she spread upon the earth will live forever.

“This morning I woke up with life shattering news…my mother had passed away. I remember talking to her a day ago. We laughed together as we always do. She is not just the person that gave me life. She is my best friend and the person I seek when I feel lost in this world. I don’t think we always see this as kids, but moms are more important than we could ever know. We sometimes take for granted who they are, or maybe we don’t see them for who they truly are. Too often than not in this time era, people go for years without speaking to their parents. When they are gone is when we actually notice, and we never get that time back. I was fortunate to speak to my mom on almost a daily basis. I got to know who she was besides being a wonderful mother and my hero.”
– Brian Schider

Survivors include: daughter, Angie Schider, Wausau; son, Brian (Crystal) Schider, Sint Maarten, Netherlands Antilles, Caribbean; grandchildren: Tyler Koehler, Jacob Schider, and Aiden Bridgewater; sisters: Diana (Mike) Kasperek, Sandy Krainik, and Patti (Terry) McAuly. Susan was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Larry Bricco Jr.; and a granddaughter, Lexi.

Robert (Bob) Harold Madison, age 81, of Saxeville, died at home on Sunday, February 12, 2017.

He was born on December 9, 1935 in the town of Poy Sippi, Wisconsin, the son of Harold and Isabel (Godson) Madison. Robert attended Poy Sippi grade school and graduated from Berlin High School in 1953. Following graduation, Bob enlisted in the air force. He and Karen J. Bishop were married on December 22, 1955. Following his discharge from the service, they moved to Blair, Nebraska where Bob attended Dana College. The family returned to Poy Sippi in 1959, and Bob joined the family business, working as an electrician. During those years, Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also active in community service: a member of the Poy Sippi Community Betterment, the Lions Club, and a volunteer in the Poy Sippi fire department and rescue squad. His wife, Karen, died on October 10, 1966. In 1967, Robert joined the computer industry as a field engineer representative, working in Milwaukee for General Electric Company. Robert and Sandra K. Stanley were married on April 27, 1968. In 1973, the family moved to the Saxeville farm in rural Waushara County, where Robert still lived at the time of his death. He continued in the computer industry, working for Telex Corporation, until 1979 when he turned to farming full time. During the 1980s, Robert was active in the Wisconsin Veal Association and served two terms on the Wild Rose school board. He continued his love for the land his whole life, although in later years he was more likely to hunt with a camera than with a gun. Bob spent many hours gathering, enjoying, and sharing “critter” pictures captured on his trail camera. He enjoyed preparing for the deer hunt as well as the camaraderie of family and friends who gathered at the farm during the hunt. He was especially pleased when other people enjoyed the farm; cruising in his UTV, he continually looked for ways to make the farm more inviting. Bob also developed an interest in family and local history, and he kept a massive pictorial record on his computer. He enjoyed watching television, playing computer games, collecting and making videotapes, being a snowbird, and playing the penny slots at local casinos. He liked to build and over the years extensively remodeled the 1895-vintage farmhouse that is the Madison homestead.

Robert Madison is survived by his wife Sandra; daughters, Nicole (Craig Stahl) Madison of St. Peter, Minnesota and Amy (Robin Bender) Madison of Waupaca, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Kari Madison, Devin Friday, and Isabella Friday; and great-granddaughters, BraeLynn Friday and Kendall Friday. He is further survived by his daughter-in-law, Pamela Madison, widow of Bradley, and her children Stuart, Pamela, and Michelle; his sister, Elaine (C. Milton) Brostrom; and other family and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Bradley Madison and Edward Madison, and daughter, Tammy Madison.

A private memorial service is planned for a later date. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family.

Harley E. Dunbar, age 83, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Theda Care Medical Center-Waupaca.

Harley was born in the Town of Dayton, Waupaca County, WI on March 5, 1933, the son of the late Elmer and Mayme (Testin) Dunbar. On September 7, 1957, Harley married Susan Smith at the Dopp Methodist Church. Harley worked for many years in law enforcement, first as a Police Officer with the City of Waupaca and later as the Village Marshall in Wild Rose. He enjoyed sports and was an avid bowler, playing in the men’s league and couples leagues, he entered tournaments and taught his son Michael to bowl, of course Michael learned a lot from his bowling experience with his friends. Playing pool with the Senior league for many years has been a great time also. He also played couples shuffle board at the Senior League and was doing great. I will never forget the one time Harley missed his 300 game by 3 pins. Our son, Michael has been a great bowler also and has had a few 300 games along with the great average he carries and when he was in the Navy in Norfolk, Virginia he bowled for the Navy tournament and helped winning it for them with a 700 plus series. We have been playing sheepshead cards twice a week for many years and he helps running the card party at the Senior Center on Tuesdays and one at Trinity Church every Friday afternoon. We also enjoy getting together with other family members and friends for an evening of cards and different board games. Over the years, Harley and Sue have restored three convertibles, a light blue 1962 Chevy with a white top, a 1967 red Camaro with a white top, which we gave to our son Michael and his wife Amy and our pride and joy, a 1957 Sierra Gold Chevy Convertible, which we restored from the ground up, even finding a different frame for it. We spent many weekends going to car shows with our friends from Waupun over the years. They had restored a turquoise 1957 Chevy Convertible with a white top. Harley also loved his toy, a John Deere lawn mower with power lift no less, which he has never shown me how to run. He mows the grass, picks up leaves in spring and fall, snow blows the snow. It was nothing to see him going up and down the street mowing our neighborhood friends’ lawns and blowing snow to help them out. I called johnnie his toy.

Harley is survived by his wife:,Sue Dunbar, Waupaca; his son, Michael (Amy) Dunbar, Oshkosh; his two granddaughters, Casey and Morgan Dunbar and his sisters: Gladys (Lloyd) Moder, Hortonville; Caroline (Leonard) Guthu, Waupaca and Annette Koss, Waupaca. Harley is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leland and Darrel Dunbar.

Burial will follow in the Crystal Lake Cemetery, Town of Dayton, Wisconsin. Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
