William “Red” Carlson went home to Jesus on January 16, 2021 at age 92.
William was born to the late Willard and Lillian (Torkelson) Carlson in Chicago, Illinois on January 26, 1928. Growing up, Bill loved baseball and played in the minor leagues. Red was a veteran in the US Army. He was a police officer with the city of Waupaca for many years. Bill was an active member of First Assembly of God Church in Waupaca. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father. Bill married his wife Delores in 1953, they were married 60 years and had two children, David and Deborah. In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, throughout his entire life he held an unwavering faith in God which he shared with those who surrounded him.
Bill joins his wife Delores, his parents, grandson Joseph, and daughter-in-law, Christine in heaven. He is survived by his children, David Carlson of Iola and Deborah (Ken) Wright of Parkland, Florida; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
The Funeral Service will be on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 4 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 1420 Berlin Street, Waupaca. The visitation will be at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of service. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
