Kramer, Corintha A. (Corey)

Corintha A. (Corey) Kramer, age 94, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Park Vista in Waupaca.

She was born in Dale, WI on December 5, 1922, a daughter of the late Rev. Frank Albert and Rose (Grabow) Reier. She was baptized by her father in Dale, WI. She attended grade school in Dale and Waupaca. In 1933 her father received the call to serve Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Corey graduated from Waupaca High School. After graduating from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, she taught school at Trinity Lutheran School in Bay City, MI. She returned to Wisconsin and taught Kindergarten in the Oconto School system. On July 26, 1947 she married Darold Kramer in Waupaca. Together, they owned and operated Kramer’s Print Shop for 33 years, retiring in 1987. Corey was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Waupaca until 1973. Then she and her husband joined Emanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in New London, where she served as organist for many years.

Survivors include her son, Terry (Peggy) Kramer, Waupaca, WI; grandchildren: Daniel (partner-Nicole Wangler) Kramer, Minneapolis, MN; Luke (Jill) Kramer, St. Paul, MN; great-granddaughter, Willow Kramer; Foreign Exchange Student, Carlos Ricciardi, Ushuaia, Argentina and a sister, Delores Ceasrine, Baltimore, MD. Corey is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband – Darold, daughter – Cathy Rose Kramer, brother – Gerald and sister – Verna.

Funeral Services will be held at Emanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in New London at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017. Interment will be held at Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and on Monday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Ev. Lutheran Church of New London. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Park Vista and Theda Care at Home Hospice.


Arnlund, Alexander Edward

Alexander Edward Arnlund peacefully passed away at home on Friday, November 24, 2017 in Dayton, Wisconsin.

Alex was born in Missoula, Montana on March 31, 1995 to Becky Drechsler and Troy Arnlund. Alex was the epitome of strength in every way. In his lifetime he endured tremendous challenge, and yet always managed to show love and appreciation to those around him. He had a zeal for life that defied the difficulty of his circumstance and a strength of faith that carried him throughout his 22 years. Alex defied the odds and blessed all those who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life. His quiet resilience and loving heart were the comfort that brought healing to the entire family in the aftermath of his sister’s tragic passing. His absence is going to leave a massive hole in the lives of many.

Alex is preceded in death by his beloved little sister Kameron Arnlund and many grandparents. He is survived by his mother Becky Drechsler and stepdad Mike Drechsler, his father Troy Arnlund, his sister Kelsey Olson, his nephew Kaleb Polly, his paternal grandparents, Judie and Jerry Melum and Bert and Kari Arnlund, his maternal grandparents, Gary and Cherie Stevens, great-grandmothers, Beulah Rogers and Doris Stevens. Alex is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family is eternally grateful for the many dedicated nurses, aids, doctors and helpers who have touched Alex’s life over the years. Your dedication to loving and caring for Alex was a tremendous gift to him and to our family. Please receive our very heartfelt thanks!

Glodowski, Norbert “Norb” John

Norbert “Norb” John Glodowski, Waupaca, WI passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI.

Norbert was born June 26, 1928, the son of the late Bert and Laura (Konkol) Glodowski in the Town of Amherst, Portage County, WI. He married Sally Retzke on September 16, 1950. They had three children, Dan, Albert, and Karen. Sally passed away on May 22, 1966. Norb was drafted in January 1951 and served in the U.S. Army, 45th Infantry Division. He was a machine gunner in a Rifle Company of the 179th Infantry Regiment. He was sent to Korea where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart Medal. He received his wounds during a “suicide assault” on Old Baldy on his birthday, June 26, 1952. The assault was so intense that Norb’s two buddies on either side of him were casualties. Corporal Norbert J. Glodowski also earned the Combat Infantry Badge (CIB), and two battle stars for participating in the Second Korean Winter 1951, and the Summer Fall Campaigns 1952. Upon his return from overseas, he joined the Active Army Reserves as a Military Policeman. He served with great distinction and earned the rank of Sergeant First Class before his discharge from Military Service. Norbert was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1037, the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Elks and Moose. He graduated from Amherst High School in 1947 and also attended the Milwaukee Institute of Technology (MIT). He worked at Ladish Company and American Motors in Milwaukee. Norb retired from the Wisconsin Public Service Corporation after 27 years, where he served in several positions including as an Estimator Design Engineer. Norb married LaVon (Schei) Hanson on June 29, 1968 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stevens Point, WI. Norb and LaVon traveled to Korea when his son, Dan, was stationed at Camp Casey, Republic of Korea. They toured Panmunjom and the Demilitarized Zone, where they viewed some of the battlefields that Norb fought in. They also traveled to Europe, Mexico, and cruised the Bahamas. Upon retirement and during the winter months, Norb would travel to St. Petersburg, FL. He would attend dances at VFWs, DAVs, and other locations. He enjoyed the warm weather of Florida and activities available. Norb was very talented repairing appliances for friends and family. He always had his tool box in the car.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 1/2 years, LaVon Glodowski of Waupaca; three children, Dan (Maggie) Glodowski of Indianapolis, IN; Albert (Liz) Glodowski of Waupaca, WI, and Karen (Duane) Bruns of Hortonville, WI; four stepsons, David Hanson, Jon Hanson, Paul (Vera) Hanson, all of Waupaca, WI and Bill (Chelsea) Hanson of Green Bay, WI; five grandchildren, Chaslyn, Jaron, Troy, Chase, and Natasha; six step-grandchildren, Teresa, Seth, Claire, Noel, Nicki, and Jacob; four great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Pierce, Blake, and Nicholas; seven step-great-grandchildren, Jaden, Mikaela, Aubree, Evan, Mia, Zeke, and Austin; two brothers, Raphael (Belvine) Glodowski and Bert (Millie) Glodowski, both of Amherst, WI; and one sister, Lorraine Klinkert of Stevens Point, WI. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Norb was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Laura Glodowski; his first wife, Sally Glodowski; a stepson, Michael “Waldo” Hanson in 2008; a step-daughter-in-law, Kathleen Hanson in 2017; and a brother-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” Klinkert.

A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. A visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 8th, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca with a Prayer Service to be held at 3:30 p.m. A visitation will also be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery – Fancher. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the VFW Post #1037 in Waupaca, WI. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses, LPNs, CNAs, and staff of the King Veterans Home for their dedicated and professional care of Norb. Stange, Lois Lillian

Lois Lillian Stange, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, first-grade teacher, singer, and interior designer passed gently on Dec. 3rd at the age of 93.

A service will be held at Holly Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Chuck Tews officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.

Lois loved her family, little children, singing, helping others and operating the family furniture and interior design business, Stange’s of Waupaca. She was spirited, joyful and kind as well as strong and skilled at business.

Lois is survived by her husband, Robert, her son John (wife Elizabeth) and their children Bill (wife Evonne and their son Henry Robert) and Lisa Jauch (husband Dave and daughter Lillian Elizabeth), daughter Karlene (husband Robin), son Mark (wife Lehann and her daughter Aleisha). We feel grateful for her life with us and send her love and blessings as she joins our maker in Divine Love.

Larson, Robert W.

Robert W. Larson of Waupaca, age 61, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at home, after a battle with cancer, the Lord called him home.

He was born on December 26, 1955 to the late Robert and Charlotte (Wilkenson) Larson. On April 5, 1975 he married Cheryl Larsen. Bob was a master electrician, working for Bauer Electric. He was a member of Calvary Chapel Waupaca. Bob collected guns, especially war rifles and enjoyed being outdoors.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Cheryl; son, Aaron Larson and his sons, Keiven and Jonathan Larson and daughter, Tammy Larson, both of Waupaca; a brother, sisters, other relatives and friends.

The Memorial Service will be on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Chapel, 615 W. Union Street, Waupaca, with Pastor David Goyke officiating. Friends and family may gather on Wednesday at Calvary Chapel from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.

Klapper, Robert L. (Bob)

Robert L. (Bob) Klapper died peacefully  on Dec. 4, 2017 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin at the age of 72.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Nance; daughters, June (Jerry) Schumacher and Lori (Jeff) Merkes; stepchildren, Anne Streckenbach and special friend, Dan, and Joseph (Kerry) Dereszynski; grandchildren, Brooklynn Allen, Brandon (Brittny) Allen, Seth and Luke Merkes, Mollie Masingille and Thomas Dereszynski; great-granddaughter Annika Masingille; father, Robert F. Klapper; brother, Gary (Ann) Klapper; sister, Barbara (Gary) Wegner. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia “Jean” Klapper; brother, Dennis Klapper; and granddaughter, Hannah.

Bob was born on March 31, 1945 in Neenah, Wisconsin to Robert and Virginia Klapper. He graduated from Menasha High School in 1963. He married Sandra Breuhl in 1965 and they welcomed daughters, June in 1966 and Lori in 1967. He graduated from UW-La Crosse in 1967 with a degree in Education. For 10 years Bob enjoyed being a Phy. Ed. teacher and athletic coach for the Sussex Hamilton School District until he moved and took over his parents’ restaurant in Fremont in 1978. Bob married Nance in 1979 and together they ran the Wolf River Diner in Fremont until 2000. That year they moved back to Nance’s hometown of La Crosse with grandchildren Mollie and Thomas. Music was his passion. While in high school and college he participated in band, choir and musical theater. Presently he was active in the church choir at Our Savior’s Lutheran and sang tenor with the Coulee Chordsmen and his quartet, The Hi Lo Men. An avid Packer and Badger fan, Bob loved the outdoors-fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and riding Harleys and horses. He was a man of deep faith, a man who loved his church, God, his family and his dogs. He was a wonderful and devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 612 Division St., La Crosse, is scheduled for Saturday Dec. 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. Pastor Joanne S. Richmond will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Come For Supper in care of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the first responders, the Critical Care and Palliative Care Units and staff at Gundersen Health Systems. Ruth M. Allen, age 84, of Waupaca, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.

She was born on October 15, 1933 to August and Alice (Hebblewhite) Bleskey. She was united in marriage to Clayton Allen Jr. and he preceded her in death on December 3, 2012. Ruth was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Waupaca, where she served on the Altar Guild for many years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, walking and bird watching.

Ruth will be dearly missed by her children: Bradley Allen of Waupaca, Barbara (Russell) Reynard of New London, Barth (Jeri) Allen of Waupaca, Matthew Allen of Waupaca, and Mark (Melanie) Allen of Deer Park, WA; grandchildren: Clayton Allen, Nicole (Ryan) Wockenfus, James (Shayna) Reynard, Rachel (Kyle) Petit, Jenna Hobson, Jessica Allen, Kimberly and Karena Allen, Mara and Macy Allen; brother, David (Kathy) Bleskey of Amherst; and sister, Jane Madsen of Mauston. She is further survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clayton; and three brothers, James, Martin and Richard.

A memorial Mass will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Waupaca, with Father Nigel Bousfield officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of Mass. Burial of cremains will take place in Lower Amherst Cemetery at a later date. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of ThedaCare Waupaca and Neenah, the ICU nurses, Dr. Wascher, as well as Deb, Becky and Hannah from Bethany Pines. The Maple Crest Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Beverly J. Rachu, age 87, of Waupaca, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at ThedaCare Medical Center – Waupaca.

She was born in Milwaukee on January 10, 1930 to Henry and Marie (Koeckritz) Brester. She was united in marriage to Robert Rachu on March 10, 1973. Beverly worked for many years as a health aide at the hospital, but her true passion was cooking for the kids at school. She was the epitome of a people person, greeting everyone and sending everyone off with a hug. She and those hugs will be dearly missed.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Robert; children: Floyd (Mary) Roberts Jr. of Grafton, Marie (Richard) Pellerino of Waupaca, Dennis (Theresa) Roberts of Menomonee Falls, Geno (Deborah) Roberts of Waupaca, Debra (Jerry) Borst of Horicon and Cindy (Robert) Haydu of Texas. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, a sister, Joyce Harris of New London, a brother, Robert (Pat) Brester of New Berlin, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Christine; brothers, Henry and Alan Brester, and sister, Marilyn Williams.

To celebrate the wonderful life Beverly lived, a funeral service will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11 a.m., Immanuel Lutheran Church of Waupaca, with Pastor Ron Siemers officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the Maple Crest Funeral Home from 1 to 4 p.m. and again on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.


Ihlenfeldt, Robert M.

Robert M. Ihlenfeldt, 78, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, from an aortic aneurysm and has battled with multiple myeloma for the last four years.

Bob was born on April 29, 1939, in Kewaunee, to the late Millard and Louise (Levy) Ihlenfeldt. Robert was a 1957 graduate of Kewaunee High School. Bob served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959, and then married the late Judith Olsen on April 30, 1960. He was a hardworking man with many trades and talents from farming to construction.

Robert is survived by his children: Scott Ihlenfeldt, of Kewaunee; Randy (Sheri) Ihlenfeldt, of Kewaunee; and Sherry (Jeff) Meyer, of Appleton; grandchildren: Jim (Maggie) Ihlenfeldt, Kari (Kelly) Ihlenfeldt, Ryan (Susan) Budzban, Victoria (Henry) Polanco-Gonzalez, Ben (Jena) Schimmel, and Kendra (Jake) Rateau; several great grandchildren; siblings: Kathleen (Martin) Burkhardt and John (Diane) Ihlenfeldt; special family friend Timothy Rodgers; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, former wife, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the Wichman Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton, with full military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Bob’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Appleton, Milwaukee, and Green Bay VA’s; the staff at ThedaCare Hospital, New London; the staff in the ICU at ThedaCare Hospital, Appleton; the EMT’s, and all other medical staff who helped Dad, for their care and compassion through this journey.

Hanke, LaVern Leroy

LaVern Leroy Hanke died on December 9, 2017 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home – King, WI where he received care for the prior two years at Ainsworth Hall 1.

LaVern was born September 28, 1932 on the Hanke family farm in rural Marathon County, WI, the son of William and Elsie (Haehlke) Hanke. He attended grades 1-4 at Mitchell Grade School near the family farm. His parents moved to the Little Chicago area and he attended the LaFollette School for Grades 5-6. After the death of his mother, Elsie in 1944, his family moved to Wausau and he attended the Trinity Lutheran School for grades 7 and 8 where he was Confirmed in 1946. He attended Wausau East High School and graduated in 1950. He worked at the Curtis Wood Co. in Wausau from 1950-51. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in February 1952 and served honorably for four years including time served in North Africa as a payroll clerk for his unit as a Staff Sergeant. LaVern began his post high school education with financial assistance from the GI Bill at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and graduated in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. While a student at the university, LaVern met his future wife, Janet Louise Woller; they were married August 6, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Berlin, Marathon County, WI.

After graduation, he worked as Probation and Parole Employee in Eau Claire County. LaVern continued his Education at the University of Wisconsin –Madison, moved to Beaver Dam and worked part-time at the State Prison in Waupun and graduated with a Masters Degree in Social Work. In 1962, they moved to Waupaca, WI where LaVern continued work as a State Probation and Parole Agent in Waupaca, Shawano and Waushara Counties. In 1966, LaVern accepted a position as the first director of social services at the Wisconsin Veterans in King, WI. Lavern and Jan’s first son, Paul, was born October 16, 1961 in Beaver Dam, WI. A daughter, Rebecca, was born on December 5, 1962 and a second son, Aaron, was born on May 8, 1964 in Waupaca, WI. The family first rented a home on Shadow Road and then purchased a home located at 1206 Royalton St. In 1972 they purchased a home located at 111 E Junction St. They moved for a period of time to a staff home located at the Wisconsin Veterans Home after LaVern’s promotion in 1978 to the position of Deputy Commandant. After renting the home for a period of some years, the family moved back into the home on Junction St. where Jan currently resides.

LaVern served on the Waupaca City Council, Police and Fire Commission and Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Fellow and Birch-Strum Fellowship awards. He was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a charter member of the German Club, Pommerscher Verein, the American Legion, the VFW and Amvets. LaVern was a long time member of the Waupaca Curling Club and enjoyed ‘bonspieling’ in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Canada. He also liked to fish, golf, play softball and hunt; he was one of the original members of the Buck Horn Hunting Lodge in the northern woods of Lincoln County.

He is survived by his wife, Janet (Jan); oldest son, Paul, Eau Claire, WI; daughter, Rebecca Austin (Dean Postings), Freedom, WI and son, Aaron (Denise) Hanke, Waupaca; eight grandchildren: Alex (fiancée, Brittany) Hanke, Tyler Hanke, Brett Hanke, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Hanke, Michael Austin, Holly Austin, Ryan Austin and Logan Austin-Postings and brother-in-law, Emil Braatz. He is preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Flora (Stuplich) Hanke and sisters, JoAnne (Dorian) Schmidt and Verona Braatz. A special thanks to the staff and Pastor Wayne Schwanke at the Wisconsin Veterans Home for their exceptional care and spiritual guidance, Holly’s Funeral Home and the Trinity Lutheran Church.

A visitation will be held at the Holly Funeral Home located at 526 S Main St, Waupaca, WI 54981 on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 1- 4 p.m. A funeral will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 206 Badger St, Waupaca, WI on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:00. Military rites will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in LaVern’s name. Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Korleski, Clifford “Butch” C.

Clifford “Butch” C. Korleski, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in Cape Coral, FL.

He was born March 31, 1932 in Wild Rose, WI, son of Harry and Elsie (Opperman) Korleski. Butch graduated in 1950 from Wild Rose High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force from July 20, 1950 – November 30, 1954. He served as a security policeman stationed in England during the Korean Conflict. On June 8, 1953, Butch married Janice Rogers in Wautoma, WI and together they raised three children. Through his working years, Butch worked as a logger, sawyer, skinner, carpenter, farmer, welder, sorghum maker, and pilot. He really was a “jack of all trades.” Butch was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed fishing and flying. He was a pain in the dupa to many, but loved by all. Butch will be dearly missed by all of his loving family and many friends.

Butch is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Janice Korleski of Wild Rose, WI; three children, Raymond (Debbie) Korleski of Tombstone, AZ; Patricia (Michael) Weiland of Wild Rose, WI, and Wanda (Jeffery) Lallier of Fond du Lac, WI; seven grandchildren, Victoria Rowley of Waupaca, WI; Bethany Korleski of San Antonio, TX; Joshua Hoffland of Wild Rose, WI; Brian (Melissa) Hoffland of Waupaca, WI; Philip (Spencer Fellnor) Hoffland of Appleton, WI; Nichole (Scott) Blanck of Fond du Lac, WI, and Jesse Lallier of Fond du Lac, WI; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three brothers, Gerald (Patricia) Korleski of Wild Rose, WI; George (Mary) Korleski of Wild Rose, WI, and Arthur (Marge) Korleski of Wild Rose, WI. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elsie Korleski; a brother, Harry Korleski Jr.; and a sister, Alice Williams.

A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holly Funeral Home, 630 County Road G and H, Wild Rose, WI. Full military honors will follow the service on Saturday. Joanne Marie Elsholtz, age 42, of New London passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at ThedaCare New London.

Joanne was born on August 14, 1975 to Timothy and Cindy (Flatoff) Birling in Menasha. She was united in marriage to Brad Elsholtz on October 29, 2005 in Fremont. Joanne was a talented decorator and loved gardening, the Dallas Cowboys, the Chicago Cubs, her dogs and watching her son play baseball and football. She was employed at Great Northern Corporation for the past 17 years.

Joanne is survived by her husband, Brad; children, Brett Birling and Jordan Elsholtz; parents, Timothy and Cindy Birling, Fremont; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Marie Elsholtz, New London; brothers and sisters-in-law, Brian (Patty) Elsholtz, Barry Elsholtz (special friend Alan Gauger), Ben (Becky) Elsholtz, Becky (Mark) Aus and Brooke (Alan) Herzfeldt; paternal grandmother, Joyce Birling; aunts and uncles, Rod (Debbie) Birling, Steve (Sara) Myhill, Jenny (Daren) Uteck and Scott Birling. Joanne is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She had many close friends, especially Tami Crain. Joanne was preceded in death by her brother Jimmy.

A funeral service for Joanne will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. Fr. Kleinschmidt will be officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Most Precious Blood Catholic Cemetery. Pionke, Thelma L.

Thelma L. Pionke, age 91, of Waupaca, WI passed away at her home on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017.

Thelma was born on Sept. 15, 1926 in Plainfield, WI, the daughter of Frank and Jessie (Davidson) Pionke. She spent most of her life employed with the 3M company out of Minneapolis, MN. After retiring from 3M, Thelma moved from Fergus Falls, MN to Waupaca so that she could be closer to her special aunt, Alma. In earlier years, she enjoyed fishing and in later years, thoroughly enjoyed feeding the squirrels. Thelma will be greatly missed and remembered for her great sense of humor.

Thelma is survived by a sister, Genevieve Weymouth; many cousins, several nieces, nephews, other close relatives and friends.

A private graveside service will take place in the Spring of 2018. Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Steven J. Waite, age 64, of Clintonville, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017.

Steven was born in Shawano on October 10, 1953, the son of the late Jack and Joan M. (Liesch) Waite. He graduated from Clintonville High School in 1971. Before opening Waite Landscape with his son Kyle, Steven worked for Shawano Lawn and Stone. Steven was an avid hunter and golfer and was often spotted driving around town with his dog, Floyd, and spending time with family and friends.

Steven is survived by: his daughter, Kelly (Micah) Griseta and their children, Ariana, Gavin and Isabella of Cottage Grove; his son, Kyle (Andrea) Waite and their children, Livia and Hannah of Bonduel; his sisters, Brenda (David) Winslow of Verona, Robin (Mike) Schultz of Clintonville, Jacqueline Waite of Appleton and Catherine “Toad” (Terry) Schroeder of Neenah; and his special friend, Jan McDermid. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for Steven will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Mr. Richard Menning officiating. Robert “Bucky” W. Meydam, age 82, of Fremont, was welcomed home on Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Neenah.

He was born on November 3, 1935 in Clintonville, the son of the late Herbert and Nona (Moore) Meydam. On September 22, 1962, Bucky married June Blondey at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New London. She preceded him in death on January 31, 2008. Bucky farmed in the Town of Fremont his entire life. Bucky served as an EMT and firefighter for the local community. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fremont, where he served on many boards and committees; he also loved to sing in the choir. Bucky served on the Town of Fremont Board for many years, was a school board member, and was a member of many farming boards. He loved getting “Friday fish fry” every week. Bucky was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and was lucky enough to attend the Ice Bowl. He always loved to attend harness horse races with his family and friends. Bucky loved deer hunting and the outdoors. Bucky will eternally be remembered for his gift of sharing stories. He always had something to share with those around him.

Bucky is survived by two sons, Mark (Katrina Larsen), Hudson, WI; and John, Fremont; a daughter, Peggy (Brian) Hartfiel, Appleton; two grandchildren, Jenna (fiancé, Brandon Boyd), and Adam (significant other Lindsey Murry), a sister, Marge Tews, Royalton; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Blondey, New London; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 107 Tustin Rd., Fremont. Pastor Stephen Pope will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established. The Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont assisted the family with arrangements.

Joyce Mildred (Stueck) Passehl was received in the arms of her Savior on December 13, 2017.

She was born March 4, 1927 in the Township of Navarino, Shawano County, WI to Edward and Adela (Hoffman) Stueck. She attended grade school at Wolf River School and graduated from Clintonville High School in 1944. She worked at 4-Wheel Drive after graduating high school. She married Arthur Passehl on November 3, 1948 in Flagstaff, Arizona. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1995. Together they lived and raised their family in Manawa, WI where she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. When she moved to Waupaca she was a member of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church. She was a Nurse’s Aide at the Wisconsin Veterans Home for 22 years. She was a resident of Park Vista and then Bethany.

She is survived by her children: Robert (Tammy) Passehl, Manawa; Mae (Mike) Gettendorf, Amherst; Mark (Debra) Passehl, Appleton, and Mary Lu (Curt) Kiessling, Waupaca; grandchildren: Jenny Passehl and David Passehl, Travis Menadue and Tania (Chris Prybylski) Menadue, Jason Passehl and Kristen Passehl, Joe (Amber) Hansen, and Jamie Kuenzi; step-grandchildren: Matt Gettendorf, Nicole (Chad) Schimmelpfenning, and Claire Kiessling; great-grandchildren: Maverick Heins, Jenna Menadue, Masen Passehl, Kaitlyn Hansen, Joseph Hansen, Kourtney Hansen, Beau Hansen, Aliyah Hansen, Khloe and Sophia Kuenzi. Brother Joe (Jackie) Stueck, and sister, Judy (Don) Peterson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Jim Stueck and Jack Stueck, sisters-in-law, Ione Stueck and Carol Stueck and son-in law John Menadue.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Shepherd of The Lakes Church. Pastor Dean Wheeler will officiate. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca from 4 until 7 p.m. and again at church on Saturday from 9:30 until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. A burial will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in the spring.

The family would like to thank the staff of Park Vista and Bethany for all their care in the last few years of Joyce’s life.

DiAnne L. Smith of Waupaca, age 82, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Rosemore Village.

She was born in Waupaca on December 10, 1935 to the late Leif and Irma (Schoenike) Olson. In January of 1965 she married David Smith. DiAnne enjoyed quilting, canning, cooking and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was a supervisor at Zwickers Knitting Mill and was a founding member of what is now Community First Credit Union. DiAnne also was a hospice volunteer for 10 years.

She will be sadly missed by: her husband, David; children: Audy (Vicki) Olsen of VA; Audrey (Bruce Adams) Olsen-Adams, Annette (Tom) McPeak, Angie (Mike) Wanty and Yvonne Smith all of Waupaca; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sisters: Darlene (Tom) Mohr of Manitowoc, Denise Montgomery of MN; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Dane and Dale Olson.

The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca. The visitation will be on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Park.

Nollenberg, Barbara Charlotte (Brooks)

Barbara Charlotte (Brooks) Nollenberg, 89 of the Town of Union, was called home to heaven on December 14, 2017 surrounded by family and friends.

She was born on May 21, 1928 in Ogdensburg, WI to the late George and Laura (Kobiske) Brooks. Barbara was united in marriage to Harvey Nollenberg on July 16, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1989. They had two sons, William and Howard. Both preceded her in death. Barbara graduated from Manawa High School in 1945 and started working at the Bank in Manawa. After her marriage she became a partner in H. Nollenberg & Son while continuing to work outside the home. She retired from the USDA Farm Service Agency after 37 years of service. Barbara had a great love of music. She began playing piano as a child and would take the bus from Ogdensburg to Waupaca on a weekly basis to take lessons. She was not only an accomplished pianist but also an organist, playing organ for over 60 years at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Symco. Not only did she play for church services, she accompanied the choir and played for weddings, funerals and esp. children’s programs. She would always get a smile on her face as she talked about the children’s Christmas program which was her favorite. She particularly liked polka music and enjoyed going to hear polka bands. Barbara was very active in civic affairs and served for 18 years as the Town of Union Chairperson. She was Vice President of the Union Cemetery Association and a member of the Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club. She and Harvey had wonderful times snowmobiling and bowling with friends. Barbara was a lifetime member of the Union Thresherman Club. She continued to support many projects and especially looked forward to greeting people in the log cabin on the grounds. Many came in just to visit with her. Barbara was a member of the St. Mark’s Ladies Aid and had served as President, Secretary and Treasurer over the years. She was also a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and served as Circuit President. This “Christian Woman of Strength” will be greatly missed by family and friends that enjoyed visiting her and having wonderful conversations. She enjoyed coming to family gatherings and was always interested in what was happening in the lives of all the nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces and great-great-nephews and nieces.

Barbara is survived by nephews: Stanley (Janet) Leach, Oshkosh; David (Nancy) Brooks, Hurst TX; Robert (Diane) Zick, Oshkosh; James (Cindy) Zick, Weyauwega and niece Patricia (James) Freer, Fremont, as well as numerous great-nephews and nieces, and great-great-nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Harvey; sons, William and Howard; her parents; sisters, Genevieve Leach and Gertrude Zick and brother George Brooks.

Thank you to friends and caregivers that have assisted Barbara and allowed her to remain in her home until very recently.

The funeral service for Barbara will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco with Rev. Jeffrey Smiles officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Symco. A visitation for Barbara will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 3-5 p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa, and on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Arryn May Lehman-Woodliff, age 52, New London passed away peacefully at her home after a long illness.

Arryn would like you all to know her work here is done. She got a call from God she cannot pass up. Her mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be singing, laughing and walking on her never-ending beach. She left detailed instructions for her husband Joel; daughter Kassandra; mother Linda Lehman; sister Joelle (Tom) Meilinger; nephews, Karter and Konor Meilinger; mother in-law Kay Patterson; brother in-law, Gerad (special friend, Jenny) Patterson; sister in-law, Staci (Troy Kelcher); nephew, Rylan Kelcher; to celebrate her mission here, which is now complete. Please join us to celebrate her journey. She was preceded in death by her father, Cal Lehman and father in-law Gerald Patterson.

She was born on November 6, 1965 in New London. Arryn graduated from New London High School. She was united in marriage to Joel Woodliff, the love of her life on October 15, 1994. She owned and operated Century 21 Westside, Hortonville as a realtor/broker. She worked as the Aquatic Manger at the New London Pool many years. She earned her nursing degree in 2013 and worked in hospice care; she loved her job and the people she cared for. Arryn was also an animal lover and had a few over the years they gave her much enjoyment in her life. Arryn was a fun loving girl who loved to socialize with friends and relatives. She loved the ocean and going boating.
